Where do you sit on the health scale? Or perhaps more importantly, where would you like to be? Health is personal to everyone, and one person’s symptoms in accordance to the scale, could be someone else’s goal.

Setting standards is important, and as health professionals, we recommend that your level of health is somewhere in between a 3 and a 4 on Functional Self’s Health Scale. 4 is our version of optimal but we realise it’s not easy to get there and stay there, especially considering our busy, city-orientated, desk bound lives these days.

So how do you get to a level 3 or a 4 if you’re at a 1 or a 2 now? Well unfortunately we don’t have a quick fix to get you from a 1 to a 4, and nor would we recommend that. You will have to work your way through the levels to start to understand what works best for you. So if you’re a 1 now, start making small changes to move step by step to a 2. This might be adding specific supplements to your diet, or start making the effort to go for a light walk a couple of times a week.

Same with getting from a 2 to a 3 or a 3 to a consistent 4, small steps and working out what works for you is key.

The majority of our blog posts include information about how you can improve your health day to day or week to week, as well as initial steps to get on the road to health, and further information about the basis of good health.

If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to contact us on our health coaching page where we can provide you with further information or even arrange some simple tests to get a better understanding of your health, which can get your body performing optimally more quickly.
